"Nose" is not a technical iris term, but merely a metaphor which came
trippingly off my tongue in the course of my encomium for this doughty
plant.The original rhizome had two "noses", that is "increases", meaning it
was Y shaped. Sorry for any confusion caused by this poetic license.
