TB iris society? AIS membership?

I was thinking that I saw a posting some time
back about a new tall bearded iris society
forming.   Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Also want to join the AIS, but it seems that in
previous posting there was a recommendation
to wait until September - because of the
membership structure - am I remembering
correctly?
