Now that one-list is no longer our alternate universe but the one true iris
list, I should post one true bio. Celia Belle was fun for the emergency,
but an alternate id wears thin when worn as everyday custom. Then, too, no
one else took up my jolly suggestion that we all make up playtime
personalities. So, for the record, I am not an 84-year-old Guggenheim
marvel with a companion named Mr. Oble. The only pond on my property
accumulates in the basement after heavy rains.
I am a housewife with a crippling case of volunteerism. I used to work for
the statewide daily newspaper but quit in a huff several years back. Now I
write book reviews and the occasional freelance piece. I grow 22 LAs and
water species, about 50 bearded cultivars, counting the medians and
rebloomers, some unguicularis, some cristata, some verna, a couple of
spurias, way too much tectorum, three Sibs, a horde of arilbred seedlings
and various irids. My big plan this year is to plant more arilbreds and see
how long it takes them to rot.
I edit the Central Arkansas Iris Society Newsletter, help tend our display
plantings at the State Capitol and work on the committee that's bringing
SLI to Little Rock in 1999.
You guys are great fun, in this or any alternate universe.
