was told by a professor at Mich. State who works with insecticides that the
secret to spraying Cygone2E was to spray it at the base of the plant. Since
it's systemic, he indicated that that let the chemicals get into the plant
much faster and cut the little suckers off at the pass since they start at the
top of the fan and work down (usually inside the fan) to the base of the plant
where they enter the rhyzome. He indicated this was the most effective way to
spray and used less Cygone. That's the way I've been spraying since I heard
him make this statement some 4-5 years ago and it seems to work.
