Hi Talk-ers,
I have a question regarding I. aphylla breeding if anyone in Iris Talk
Land has any experience to share with me.
I did a few crosses with aphylla hybrids (Hager & Craig stuff) with TB
varieties and got a number of pods forming. Since planting space is
always a cramped issue for me I am wondering how many seeds to plant.
My question is what kind of percentage of germination should I expect
from these type of crosses? 75%? 50%? I am assuming because both are 48
chromosome hybrids that I should expect a majority of the seeds to
germinate without any special treatment but don't really know. Can
someone tell me what to expect?
