I wish to thank all of those who answered me about the Spider Plants.
At this time, I wish to clarify some confusion on this plant. The plant I
have, that locally is called Spider Plant is Chlorophytum cosmosum. In
other parts of the US, I have heard it called Airplane Plant. It is two
names for the same plant.
The other plant that someone mentioned as "Spider Plant" is Cleome
spinosa. This is a much different plant entirely. I had Cleome when I
lived in Kentucky. It was aggressive, since it seeds heavily. It also has
thorns, and gets as tall as six feet. I did not bring any seeds of this
species with me, and at the time am not interested in growing Cleome
because there are better plants for this climate, and I am afraid of what
could happen if I lost control of it. Thinking of the Cleome, I noticed
some in a yard today, about 800 feet from the Rainbow River. I hope it
doesn't get away from the owner...
