<< Roger just wrote to me about a week ago and as usual is looking for
older irises for his collection. If anyone knows where he can find these
please let him know or contact me off-list and I will notify him. >>

Roger Nelson, who, in addition to operating Iris Country, the commercial
concern whose info you can find on the Sources list on the HIPS page, is
Regional Director of the Historic Iris Preservation Society for the Northwest
part of the country.

Roger is assiduous in his searches for older irises. He often sends lists of
irises he is looking for to friends here and there. Typically he will send a
list into the geographic area in which he thinks the irises may survive.
Someone in the Pacific Northwest may get a Schreiner and Plough list, someone
in the midwest may get a list of things from hybridizers in that area, someone
in Tennessee may get a list of things he thinks might be still survive there.
I know of no one who is more earnestly trying to track down specific
endangered irises to preserve them, and I encourage anyone who can help him
with his inquiries to do so.

We thank you.
