Greetings to all at iris-talk,
Many thanks for the notes of welcome received.
Bernard and I awoke this morning and made a visit to our email letterbox to find
lots of hellos and introductions. What a way to start the day! We've
had an extra bounce in our steps all day and can hardly wait to get up again
tomorrow morning to see who had left a message! Once I learn how to drive
this thing a bit better we will be able to get our web page up and running with
lots of photos of our recent releases for you to enjoy.
IRIS HAVEN has a US agent for our Australian-bred Louisiana Iris already
and many of you may have a copy of the Lone Star Iris Gardens Catalogue in your
possession. The photos of Bernard and I in there are MOST complimentary -
I wish that I looked so young again! Our good friend Farron Campbell from
Lone Star is endeavouring to promote our Iris to you fastidious Iris
junkies.
I hope that we can get to chat with many of you in the future. Talks
of Dykes Medals, shows and iris rust is fascinating and of universal
interest. Did you know that we have our own Dykes Medal here in Australia
and that the NSW Region (to which we belong) hosts the Sydney Louisiana Iris
Spectacular which is an international garden competition for Louisiana Iris only
- it's a mini "Premio Firenze" for LA's and has been running since
1988? Such greats as Mertzweiller, Mary Dunn and Dorman Haymon have entered and
won awards.
Chat soon. Heather. I*@pip.com.au
