Re: OT: Black Iris

From: "Perry Dyer" <pdyer@flash.net>

I believe the black seedling Bill is referring to is Schreiners' EE 134-4,
in bloom at the Watson garden. I saw a really nice black one there the day
after convention. When seedlings are this good, I put the number in my
bulging "want list" file. Then when the catalogs come out, I try to match
up the number with what I see in the catalog.

I didn't even get to see all the tour gardens myself this year. But even as
tired as Miss Kitty and I were, we went garden-hopping to the Edmond gardens
the next day. I was also impressed with their new black for this year,
Black Butte (that's BUTTE, folks, not BUTT, don't start flaming me again
<G>).
