Might well have intended it as a tribute, you know. The Iris is the state 
flower of Tennessee and it has a distinguished iris history going back at 
least until the 1930's. Distinguished hybridizers, iris festivals, mass 
displays, big AIS doings in Nashville, the whole bit.
