EGGNOG (a Byers rebloomer with very nice form and substance, but an
appropriately named dull yellow color) is looking the best it ever has for
me with 3 Big Strong rebloom stalks up right now. MULLED WINE also has a
great rebloom stalk, and MABEL ANDREWS (which inexplicably missed the
spring bloom) is about to open its second stalk, almost blooming out. It
has older form but has been a dependable rebloomer for me, with variable
color ranging from diamond-dusted pink to peach overlaid with old rose. Of
course, PLUM WINE is still at it.
May have lost a seed pod on a Honky Tonk Blues cross. The stalk
inexplicably rotted through in the middle overnight (no sign of slugs).
The pod is still pretty green, but with some infection already present I
figure I'll risk drying it out on a patio chair over sticking it in water.
