Can't tell you for sure since all the LA seed I've messed with were fulvas of
one form or another and nelsonii, but those all have a tan corky seed
covering. They are irregular in shape and there are quite a few empty seed
coats. The corky covering needs to be removed to effect germination. It is a
seed dispersal device to help the seed float away to another location. In
nature it would rot off.
My gut instinct is that your seeds are not yet mature. Let the other seed
pods develop a bit and watch them. When you sow them don't cover the seeds
with dirt. They like light.
