Re: CULT:best not worst



Hello everyone:

I've followed the conversation thread about the most
disappointing / worst performing iris for some time
now and find it fascinating. I could probably add a
few to that list myself....



So I suggest this question: what are your BEST
performing iris?

Donald Eaves and I have posted detailed lists of 'exceeds expectation' irises.
I think they fit all the requirements you listed.  I would say what I 
listed would have to be pretty good performers to get enough attention
for me to include them in my list.  I stopped with ten but had more.

Two more I've mentioned before in my 'beautiful list' which are also 
fantastic performers are ARCTIC FOX and GOLDEN PANTHER.  Then, there
are WISHFUL THINKING and CROSS CURRENT, always dependable.

Another group of 'best performing irises' would be anything from
Tom Burseen - at least in the lower tier of states.  Many of these, 
though, don't fall into my category of 'beautiful irises' (OZONE ALERT,
BONNIE DAVENPORT, ROMIE STEWART, etc.)  I do like CALL RIPLEY'S,
FASHION PASSION, and TENDER GENDER.  I don't think Tom has ever 
introduced a wimp.
