Some may remember my sad tale of seedlings lost to the late freeze, the ones
out in the country. Well, I made another trip out there today. Underneath
weeds as tall as my head, I found a stalk emerging from one of my red
crosses. My favorite reblooming red seedling is the pod parent and a half
sib is the pollen parent. For those who saw TARA'S CHOICE in Memphis, TC is
the pollen parent. Both have rebloomed here. TARA'S CHOICE rebloomed in the
Botanical Garden at Memphis last year.
I am thrilled! It made my day and maybe even my week . . . and it's been a
really good week! I can't wait for it to grow taller and bloom. It didn't
bloom earlier so technically it's not a real rebloomer . . . yet. But I
knows what I knows. Now, if it's just pretty!
You say I'm easy to please? You'd be right! Just potential iris bloom.
