Re: HYB: balloon pods

Linda, what color are the seeds. If they are brown or amber, they will probably be alright. If they were white, I wouldn't hold any hope for them.

  Subject: [iris-talk] HYB: balloon pods

Pod stalks are starting to wither & fall over, so it's nearly harvest
time. I pulled one of the 'obvious' empty (balloon/air) pods from
IMMORTALITY & found a couple of tiny, shriveled, aborted seeds. Not
  quite 'immoral' enough <g>

Then I gouged into another 'obvious' air pod on HARVEST OF MEMORIES and
found it was full of ripening seeds. This pod is scalloped in cross
section and is squishable (i.e., not solid).

So now I wonder if these seeds are going to be viable or if they would
have plumped up the pod more. Anybody else have experience with this
kind of pod & whether or not seeds will be viable?
