CULT: TB Scorch

Good morning everyone,

I have been lurking for ages and enjoying the 'conversations'. Now I have
a question. Last summer I received some excellent advice from this group
on what to do with a TB iris (Helen Boehm) that had developed what had to
have been scorch disease even though I am definitely not in the most
southern part of iring growing range. All the symptoms outlined in Bill
Shear's book were present and even after trying everything to save it, it
finally succumbed.

I was told at that time to not plant another iris in that spot and so it
sits. My question is, how long should I leave this spot unplanted? In my
small city lot I am always looking for space to plant so this spot is
glaring in its emptiness. I don't want to jeopardize any new iris planted
in that spot so would appreciate any guidance on how long it should remain
empty.

I have learned so much from this forum and look forward to the daily digests.
