Some fragrant iris that do well for me in zone 4 include CRINOLINE (Schreiner, '65), PRAISE THE LORD (Boushay, "72). ALADDIN'S WISH (Murawska, '43), PRETTY PANSY (Sass, '55), DECOLLETAGE (Hager, '68), QUEEN DOROTHY (RE, Hall, '84). These are esp. sweet, but I have others more mildly fragrant, and of course there are many more I don't grow. These are all fairly old, but they are in the catalogs of Riverview Iris Gardens or Superstition Gardens, I know, doubtless others as well.
