Hummmmmm........ so you are saying the pod parent is irrefutable and the 
pollen parent is suspect. Unless of course you mix the seeds, or mislabel the 
pod parent, or record the pod on the wrong number, guessed at the hard to 
read plant label, record the location wrong on the bed map, or find a left 
over seed on the table and guess where it should go, or make a mistake in 
labeling the growing pot, or error in making the seedling planting chart, or 
this, that or whatever. 

Truthfully, I believe your explanation the most plausable explanation yet
