Hi Betty ;
Your system is very similar to what I use on other
plants I`v hybrid over the years , with two
differences .
First difference - once dry my seeds are placed in an
empty film canister where in they will be frozen if I
want. They survive well this way frozen ; I have grown
,with good germination rates , seedlings from seed
that had been frozen this way for five years . I have
not tried seed that has been older then this .
Second difference - The seeds and the seedlings that
germinate remain marked pod parent X pollen parent
until each seedling flowers , once this happens the
seedling gets it`s own permanent number and full
description including genealogy . I do it this way as
I consider each seedling to be an individual cultivar
even though it is from the same cross as others .
