Hi Everyone,
I thought I should share a little of the
research I did when I first got the Reblooming
checklist. I went through and listed
everything that was reported to have rebloomed
through zone 4. (I guess I'm in zone 5, it may
average out that way, but there are plenty of
years that we qualify for zone 4)
EARL OF ESSEX was the most common parent for
rebloomers through zone 4, with VIOLET MIRACLE
coming a close second. Both are fertile both
ways which helps in the number of progeny I'm
sure.
I have also noticed that the VIOLET MIRACLE
crosses often produce offspring which does not
produce pollen. ROSALIE FIGGE has never
produced pollen here, but it will produce pods
with persistence.
One of Monty Byer's seedlings also showed up
frequently.
I will go through the new checklist when it
comes out and will try to remember to post how
that turns out.
