new grower
After recently joining and reading the posts on on this list, I realize Im
WAY over my head. Im a beginning iris grower.
Im an independent natural perfumer in Sequim, Washington State.
Ive recently purchased some Sweet Lena Iris from Martin Holland ot Graham
Washington. as I understand that they are an old fashioned fragrant iris.
My desire is to plant a good sized garden of fragrant iris to eventually use
in my perfume work. (I grow lavender now)
Dried, and aged for three years, older rhizomes are ground and distilled or
infused to use as a fixative and fragrant accord in perfumes.( I make my
perfumes with natural plant extractions exclusivly)
If any of you have encountered VERY fragrant iris, I would like to learn
about them.
Not to boggle the message board with newbie info, please email me if you have
advice. vishnovus@aol.com OR floatingworld@aol.com
Thanks in advance
Ld Lawrence
