Nicholson's Woodland Iris Gardens offers two Morgan cultivars I haven't been able to find out much about: BRIMMED RED AMO and DOUBLE ROSE AMO, both said to be from 1979 in their catalog. Riverview also has them and lists BRA as from 1981. I haven't been able to find any photos of these, but I have found a photo or two of Morgan's BRIMMED CERISE AMO (1981). If the photos are any guide, the color is more of a reddish violet than cerise. Has anyone actually seen either of the two I named above? Is the one really deep red, the other deep rose (by usual bearded iris standards)? I know they're officially described that way. Anything else known about them? I intend to ask at Nicholson's and maybe Riverview too, but I figure it's a busy time for them and hope to get some knowledge here if possible.
Maybe this has already been discussed recently, in which case please let me know, but what are the best red amoenas? I haven't noticed many, if any, but I've been focused on entry level (i.e. very cheap) cultivars.
Thanks.
Kent
