Re: HYB: Best of the best

John you convinced me to get Louisa's Song. I got two small rhizomes in summer of 2003. It grew great and increased but no bloom in 2004. This year it had one 24" stalk with two blooms. They were so close to the stalk they could not open all the way. Very big disappointment. About Town is similar and a much better iris here.

Have you tried Excellency with Louisa's Song? I made the cross both ways, neither took.

Dorothy:

You said you like those ruffled things.
Since you are ordering from Blyth, be sure to pick up Louisa's Song. You will
NOT be disappointed. I also have been very happy with Painted From Memory,
tuscan Villa and Touch Of Mahogany. Haven't made my mind up about In A Kiss
and honey House. Disappointed with the appearance of Wearing Rubies and
Drinks At Sunset.
I wish I had bought Cafi Bleu; I have not been able to get a blue seedling out
of Louisa's Song yet.
