Betty I have raised beds with clay sand and compost. I have added lime but not recently. Beds are well drained. Compost is added when I replant, normally every two years.
I do get rot when it gets hot and humid. Not a lot.
John my Louisa's Song came from a source that buys directly from Blyth.

Mike,
What type of soil do you have and what additives do you use? Lot of lime?
I've lost both Cafe Bleu & Romantic Evening twice each. (both on the other
end of that bed) Have Cafe Bleu on order again and will try pot culture on
it. Or something else. Have lost many others: Spice Lord, In a Kiss, Candy
Clouds (did get bloom & a cross last year but it is gone now.) Noble Dragon
was gone almost by the time I got it in the ground. Others.
On the positive side Scottish Rebel, Machismo, Dream Till DawnFinal Episode,
Mastery, Machismo, Man about Town, Danceman, It's Delicious, etc . . . .
seem to do well. Decadance is half way in between. Arabian Story and Burst
grow well.
