I sew 4 X 6 inch bags of nylon net and put a drawstring near
the open end.
Francelle, your bags sound much like the ones I made to keep the deer away
from my pods. I put draw strings on the first few, but didn't the last 25-30.
I was afraid that the bunched up net would draw moisture in my humid
climate and cause rot.
However, I have found one delightful use for the bags. The stalks on my
crosses are starting to rot. (more so than usual) I've found I can put the pod
and it's tag in these net (lace in my case) bags and pin them to my
message/cork board! This way I don't have to worry about the pods rolling off the
shelf or being misplaced! Air circulates well.
