HYB: good or bad news?

Given how I've bitten off way more than I could chew the last three years, which were exceptionally good (nearly off the curve better than average) bloom seasons here, pod "success" rate here this year is probably all good news.

Out of around 300? (I quit taking notes) attempted crosses, there are about 14 pods forming, 3 of which are so tiny, I'm not sure they will make it and another 3 of which look like they are probably empty.

Leaving a grand total of 8 pods this year - quite a contrast to last year's ~ 150.

Here's the list - I know most of you aren't interested, but rather than send offlist to the few who might be, & since nobody's talking much these days...

Nearly all of these are crosses that were definitely <not> planned. Just trying to get some pods on anything and everything that would cooperate, since none of the planned crosses were possible this year. But most of these have some potential for either improved form on really tough irises, rebloom, late bloom (freeze avoiding) or all three.

7-1 IMMORTALITY X OBSIDIAN (nice fat pod)

7-5 blue seedling from (DUSKY CHALLENGER x LIGHTNING RIDGE) X RESONANCE

7-7 super reliable late bronze unknown (not sunfast) X either PURPLE SERENADE or RESONANCE, probably the latter. I was <so> sure this wouldn't take, I didn't tag it....

7-8 reblooming amoena from (IMM x CSONG) X reblooming? Shadlow seedling from (GOLDEN IMMORTAL x RIO)

7-9 wide white seedling (2nd yr germinant, 3 first year germinant sibs are rebloomers, one an everbloomer, too soon to tell if this one is) from ((IMM x CSONG) x TEA LEAVES) X t bearded white seedling from (BEHOLD A LADY x CSONG)

7-10 huge amoena seedling (several sibs are rebloomers, some everbloom - 2nd year germinant, too soon to tell if this one is): ((TWILIGHT FANCIES x reblooming amoena from (IMM x CSONG)) X MATRIX

7-11 MATRIX X pink seedling from (PINK FORMAL x CSONG)

7-12 SRstalks: multicolor seedling from (SWINGTOWN x RINGO) X PURPLE SERENADE

Questionable ones include

7-2 brownish yellow seedling (DESERT REALM x SUNDAY SUNSHINE) X MAGIC HAPPENS

7-3 yellow with brown (i.e., blue) fall overlay seedling (HARVEST OF MEMORIES x BEHOLD A LADY) X Shadlow (GOLDEN IMMORTAL x RIO)

7-4 Christy Hensler's tough and showy retro variegata MUGWUMP X RESONANCE

7-6 SHAH JEHAN X PURPLE SERENADE - huh? well, why not - it was healthy, blooming, and I had pollen.....

7-13 BRUCE X RESONANCE

7-14 reblooming amoena seedling from (IMM x WHO'S YOUR DADDY) X METROPOLITAN.
