Re: Cult: Web sites of local clubs - How Beneficial??

Morning, Linda.

From a northern climate iris club, let me tell you what we are doing. The Can-West Iris Society (encompassing the cold zones of western Canada and other cold areas) is developing a website for the express purpose of educating people on the best way to grow iris in our challenging climate. Most information available deals with warmer areas and we need to do things differently in order to get the iris to survive, grow and thrive. So, we are developing our website to reflect our unique challenges. I think (read hope) that other growers in cold zones will appreciate the time (that's the biggest commitment) and effort we put into it once it is ready and running. It might also help people in warmer areas to understand why we do the things we do and prove that there is life in the not always frozen north! Nowhere near ready yet, but we're working on it as time permits.

To anyone else that has a site for their group. Positive and Negative input
would be helpful.

I enjoy looking at others sites. But don't have a clue if people really
look at these sites

and are they beneficial??
What are some of your opinions??
