Re: AIS: ETIS website, ftp software

A course? Now <that's> a novel idea <g>

I have been doing this the hard way - bought the software, then just started poking around till I figured out how to use it.

It's awkward to use, and not as self-explanatory as most software I've used, but was cheap. It cost less than the price of a new iris introduction. I would hate to have tried to create a website from scratch using it, but it was ok just figuring out how to use it to edit files of an existing site.

Basically, all you have to do is open the file, then hunt for the text you want to change, then cut and paste/type your new text. Make <sure> your fumble fingers don't accidentally delete some of the codes, then save/replace the edited file - making sure it has the same file name as before.

Uploading the files to the host website requires use of some kind of ftp software to copy files from your computer to the host. I had a free version of something or other Commander? that's fairly straightforward. Just noticed that's another thing I have to add to this computer..

Anyone have suggestions of shareware/open source ftp software?

<I do have front page. Started a
course in it, and teacher got sick - no replacement. I also discovered I
have Publisher already on my computer, and like it in someways better than
Front Page.>
