Re: Iris Sales

To Little bit,

I mailed a pix to photo group of last yrs sale:

But wanted to add, that since I live so far, I don't get in on the labeling
and planning much for our sales.
So what I do is pull the iris I want to donate, write w marker on leaf, Put
in paper bag (this yr. will use the cherry tomato mesh bags I've saved all
year.) Then I run a pix off just on plain paper at home and staple to my
sack.

Purpose of mesh vs paper, I found people want to see the iris and if it's in
a bag they can't see it.

When I print pix, I also include the registration info. Last year I printed
a pix for each bag, this year, I may either get my info in on time to my
club and they can mount a pix, Or I'll make a sep. poster.

Subject: [iris] Iris Sales

I am the chairman for our AIS sale this year..My
first...I am interested in hearing from everyone their
ideas about how to make the sale successful.
We don't offer potted irises or I guess I should say
we haven't in the past. I have thought about grab
bags, but how much should I price them? How many in
the bag? Are they worth the effort that goes into
them?
We hold it every year at the farmers market so we do
get lots of traffic..
I will take any and all suggestions and tips, I
really want this sale to be outstanding!

  Thanks in advance
  Littlebit
  JAIS
