for what it's worth.. I think I recognise a few of those names from catalog listings... That most likely means Riverview... you can find them on the AIS links page.. or possibly Argyle Acres... also links page. Some of those pedigrees also look familiar... but that probably means next to nothing. welcome. I came across this group as a result of that research. My grandmother was Melvina Suiter who was an iris hybridizer from the 1950's through the late 1980's. Some of her irises are "Tomeco," "Orange Crush," "Orange Frills," and many others. Here's a website I came across that lists the iris she registered: http://iris.onrussell.com/registrydetailh.asp?name=Suiter&B1=Submit During the late 1970's and early to mid 1980's, we owned a home where we had planted many of my grandmother's iris; however, we had to leave them behind when my husband was transferred to another state. We retired in the mid-1990's and shortly thereafter started fulltiming, so I've never been in a position to have any more of my grandmother's iris until now. An aunt has some of my grandmother's irises and will be dividing them later this summer. I've asked that she let me know when she's doing this so that we can bring back iris to our place. I'm not sure yet just which ones she has. If anyone on this list has any information on any Suiter iris, or happens to have one in their garden, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
