I think you are right about Riverside. From what I could find out, they moved their gardens sometime in 2007 or 2008 and lost a lot of iris in the move. Also, the owner Tony was ill back in 2008, but no information since September 2008 (this information was gathered at Dave's Garden website from a Google search for Riverside Iris).
Mike Unser did send me an email with the locations of the four iris listed on the Master Historic Iris List. I've ordered Tomeco and Orange Crush from Bluebird and will be ordering Ladyslippers from Newport Naturals. Haven't contacted Matthew's Iris Gardens yet regarding Sky Hostess.
It's sad that of the 80+ iris my Grandmother registered, there are only four left, at least in commercial gardens. I received sad news from my aunt, too...she has not been physically able to take care of her garden for some time and all the identifying tags are gone. She's going to hire someone to "revitalize" the garden later this summer, but we'll have to wait until bloom time next year to find out what's there...and that will be huge guessing game since I don't have pictures of any iris except Tomeco.
So, if anyone has any pictures of any of my Grandmother's iris, I'd really be interested in receiving a copy via email (a long shot, I know).
