Paul, I've been conducting my own trial garden for the past seven years. I've
trialed close to 200 of the tall bearded irises introduced as rebloomers
(1995-2007) --anywhere--through 2007. Both coasts and Australia are
represented. Several were traded, a few were bonus material, but most were
bought.

I've not grown all of Sutton's irises but still have over twenty of them in a
variety of colors and patterns.

Paul, I know what it's like to walk into the wind. I work with cool/hot
climate rebloomers!

I'm with Linda at this point! I'm about out of energy. This heat is brutal,
the rains have stopped, and the wind has dropped for the first time in seven
years. My seedlings are in jeopardy right now! Ready to start watering the
garden beds, but it's over 90 degrees each day. Not good. Looking like we'll
close out as the hottest June in over 50 years. Not good at all.

Those that are sending seedlings (for me to trial) this year should wait until
later in the summer if possible.

Betty Wilkerson . . . the seed harvest is going well. I'm happy with this
year's crop.

Just sending out to be evaluated is fine also. Not every would have to grow
thers' seedlings.

I've about reached the point where I don't have energy and enthusiasm to
trial my <own> seedlings, much less those of others.

I've sent a few of my seedlings to others for evaluation & breeding use
if so desired. So far, no one has contradicted my decision not to
introduce ;-)

<And just for a hypothetical for the moment... how many would on this
list would actually want to participate in hosting and trialing others'
seedlings? >
