Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experiences. I'm glad to hear that the bloom height problem is probably weather related rather than something I've done wrong. The bright side of the low bloom height is it's a good excuse to cut them and enjoy them inside! Holly, my garden did not suffer from Hurricane Sandy. Thank God. Sandy was a killer though. My mothers' gardens took several feet of salt water. Many of her TB's I wanted to divide and take to my home had completely washed away. There's no trace of them. Quite sad but that's nature.
