Credit is due to Dennis Hager for reminding us of this particular instance of
the seasonal ebb and flow of nature. I don't know much, but I know that bogs
are not just soggy spots, they are discrete and complex ecosystems. The
difference between a saltmarsh and a spring fed mountain meadow bog is pretty
big.
