To let you all know how odd a season it still is here, LITTLE SHOWOFF
(SDB) still has a couple of blooms, ZIPPY CHERUB, WELCH'S REWARD, and
CAROLYN ROSE, all (MTB's) are blooming, the few TB's that bloomed are
almost gone, the Siberians are basically gone. The Louisianas and Spurias
are blooming, and the Japanese Irises are starting to show buds. GERALD
DARBY has buds and could bloom any day. Iris pseudacorus is still
blooming.
It has been so cloudy here that many plants, including those in full
sun locations are showing symptoms of light deprivation. There were more
hours of sunshine in February than there were in May. June has not been
any better so far. Only one day has reached 70 so far in June. The normal
for now is well into the 80's, approaching 90 by month's end.
