Oregon has the following iris highlights;
location of Schreiners iris gardens
location of Cooleys Iris Gardens
location of AIS Library
location of Keith Keppel Gardens
location of Abbey gardens
Terry Aitken Salmon Creek Garden is close by
near ideal conditions for growing iris; length of growing season, soil
type, amount of rainfall, amount of sunlight
location of lots of other wonderful iris people/hybridizers and their
associated gardens
Just some of the reasons and I probably missed something and some
people/gardens!
David and Nancy Silverberg of the Iris List can probably tell us more
from first hand experience... they made the move... though we will most
likely have to wait until they get home from the AIS Convention.
The Clampetts moved to Californee, real iris folk move to Oregon.:-))
