How embarrassing. I've been trying to send this for weeks, and my brain had
spazzed, so I've been trying to send it to the wrong address. OOps.

Hi, all! I promised Scott Jordan I'd report on our show, but my mail
administrator sent it back. I hope it goes through this time...

SANTA FE IRIS SOCIETY:
This year sure beat last year, when we had to cancel due to drought. We
didn't have as big a show as in some years past, but it was pretty good, and
though some people had hail (on Thursday, of course!), just about everyone was
able to bring in something that looked good.
Queen of Show was BAGDAD'S FOLLY, AB shown by Pat Feather. She also showed
the Best Median, the SDB, PRINCE, and she won the Bronze medal. And the Best
Historical, with HONORABILE. Way to go, Pat!
Runner-up was the best TB, STARDUST MEMORIES, shown by Streya Ortiz.
Pat Soland took the Silver medal with I forget how many blue ribbons, and he
also won the People's Choice award with LOCAL COLOR. Some of the rest of us
think we ought to change our names to Pat, too, and then we might win!
Best seedling was mine, but that's not saying much, as this one is very much a
work in progress.
In the Artistic division, Shelby Green took top honors, though Sharon Elliott
won the sweepstakes (the theme, by the way, was "The Literate Iris" which
allowed for some fun topics, but I'm sorry, I pay much more attention to the
horticultural side of the show). Diana Capshaw got the People's Choice award,
and the youth award went to Amanda Ward.
And it turned out to be a great day to be indoors at an iris show, as it was
cold and rainy all day
Barb, in Santa Fe, and of course I have several Queen of Show stalks out in
the garden today.
