I suspect "easily" is relative, because I have had pods break off in strong
wind. If you break the bloom off, it doesn't matter whether the pollination was
successful or not because the pod won't have a chance to form.

I believe that most people just leave it alone, but when the flower reaches the
completely dried stage I cut it off just above the swelling ovary.
