My understanding these are usually due to unstable genes and usually
will not occur consistently. George Sutton has one this year with pink
and yellow and believes it will hold the pattern. (I'm NOT holding my
breath). The two important questions are 1. are all flowers on the
stalk identical and 2. will the flowers from ALL increases continue to
pattern consistently next year. If the answer to both is "yes", you get
four cherries on your slot machine and a big can full of money. If the
answer is "no", you've had a lot of fun. As for seeds, they are
extremely unlikely to carry this trait even if the pattern is
consistent.
