Hi Mark,

Simply stated the black list was a discard list for bearded Irises put out
by the American Iris Society in 1931.    It included many varieties that
were marked with the sign, $, in the 1929 check list that were extinct or
superseded, together with numerous additions that were deemed inferior.  It
is an Iris collectors presentation piece.  Con you imagine what would
happen today,  IF that were tried today.   I was the lucky purchaser of the
pamplet.  The only other ones I know of are in the AIS library and with
Keith Keppel.  There may be others but I don't know of them.
