AIS Checklist, etc.

I talked with President Niswonger by phone this evening concerning the
latest e-mail on the AIS store problem. I had talked with him earlier in
the day and offered my services if the volunteer job became a paying job.
AIS is needing a volunteer and some are being looked into at the present
time. This satisfied my mind until I got home from work and read the
afternoon e-mail. A return call to President Niswonger assured me that
something was being done to work out the problem and all who had ordered
would be taken care of. I informed him of 97 calendar orders not being
sent, too. He had spoken with Jerry Gifford some 2 weeks ago and ask him
to get some volunteers to help fill the orders he had. He was told he
would. Jerry has had some health problems, one of which was having been
bitten by a Recluse Spider. He had been filling his orders on Mondays,
his day off from work, but had been going on this day for back pain
treatments. It sounds like Jerry has had a bad time recently and of
course that is no excuse for his lack filling the Store position. It seems
to be quite a large job. Again President Niswonger assured me that all
orders would be filled. He had been swamped with letters concerning this
problem and was not able to respond to each and everyone. Also the next
issue of the Bulletin will not have the Store ad. This should help to slow
down orders so things can get caught up. I ask President Niswonger if he
knew when things would change hands. He was not able to tell me as he said
it would take sometime to make the change and he had hoped Jerry Gifford
would be able to get all the orders filled that he now has. It would be
difficult for someone else to take over in the middle of something he had
already started. I plan a trip to Nashville this weekend and hope to go by
the Giffords and see if I can help. They are not cons or frauds as Jerry
is a fine person and I think he just overshot his time and was not aware of
the job that C J Lack had done for so many years. C J never complained
about the heavy load he had carried for AIS and Jerry probably thought he
would be able to do it with no problem.. C J was retired and Jerry has a
full time job. Well I typed long enough and probably made some Iris-L
enemies so I will close and get this to you all ASAP.
