Happy Friday to everyone on Iris-L
I have read public and private e-mail concerning the AIS Board and the
Publication Director with interest. I'm troubled by the fact that some
people within AIS are offended by peoples ideas, concerns or
complaints.
Why anyone would be offended because a person asked why his/her order
has not been filled in a "Reasonable" length of time is beyond me. This
has nothing to do with C.J.Lack. He was the type of responsible person
that is hard to find today. The job of the Board is to find the RIGHT
person for a job, not the FIRST person. Jerry Gifford is a fine person,
and I am sorry he has had problems. He can still use a telephone or
write letters to cry HELP if he finds the job overwhelming - haven't you
done that? Come on folks we are all responsibile for our actions or
inactions.
Yes, this is a volunteer organization. There are lots of volunteer
groups out there with similar problems, BUT the ones who overcome those
problems don't get offended at the drop of the hat, BUT listen to ideas
of everyone (not a 'Select Group') and work TOGETHER for the common good
of all. (New comcept to some) This problem was not new to the Board -
Letters flowed to Dave Niswonger after my e-mail request (remember?)
Several people had written Dave and Jerry months prior to my request so
there is no excuse.
The Board of Directors has a huge task in front of them...Credibility!
This organization is headed in the wrong direction. One way to stop it
is listen to the voice of the membership. Maybe we can't all make the
Board Meetings and Conventions, but we are paid members who care.
Finally - to those of you who are offended by my posting, or the
postings of others......get over it. There is nothing personal here, so
don't take it that way. Maybe if those people would stop getting
offended and started listening and trying to FIX this thing, we all
would be better off.
To those who are enjoying their bloom now.....continue to do so!
To those who have finished their bloom....it will return in the Fall or
next year.
To those who don't like what I said.....press DELETE now!
Good Day
