We have not had the same judges twice in our six years of having
shows sponsored by the North Misssissippi Lakes Iris Society.
LEMON CHESS and CONFEDERATE ROYALTY received two EC's before they
were introduced. In recent years, the seedlings that won EC's were
eventually named and introduced. LC and CF were not registered until after
EC's were awared. However, this year the best seedling had already been
registered as VIOLET SHIMMER, and there was a judge who didn't understand
that a named variety could be a seedling. Reminds me of the controversies
over giving seedlings ribbons....yet another show problem!!
