Patti,
I have the same problem, in that I have most of the square inches that
are useable already filled up with irises. I am going to solarize for 4
weeks this summer. It will be a new experience for me. During that time
I am going to hold my iris in a dry, airy, shaded place. I am also going
to put a few of them in a spare refrigerator, just to see what happens.
Then I will plant the chilled rzs next to non-chilled ones of the same
variety and see if there is any difference in the fall and/or spring.
