It is clear that I have to get down to Lancaster to visit. We made it
to Plattsburgh the other day for a business meeting and it seemed quite
close after we cross the lake on the ferry. I will probably have to go
to Plattsburgh again soon and will see.
We have lots of peonies in flower but am determined to eliminate almost
all of them this autumn. Sometime ago, I purchased ten from a chain and
all turned out to the the wrong colour - pink rather than salmon. This
is the same problem as that with irises, buy from a mass marketer and
one get the lowest common denominator, which to my mind is pink. I
already have about five pink ones and have finally decided enough is
enough. I intend to swap them with any other peony rather than pink.
