Dear List,
On Friday night chat, the subject of shriveling pods came up. We were
discussing how some pods thrive and grow and then change color and begin to
shrink. We wondered if these pods were air pods. Today we have found the
answer to our question. Yes and No. GIRL NEXT DOOR was large but
shriveled. It started opening. We picked it, looked inside, and there was
one happy seed. Steve held it gently in his hand and even tried to hug it.
It was the first seed of the year and his first seed ever. Are these
shriveling pods evidence of few or fewer seeds? It would seem so.
