Seeing the discussion on this species has reminded me to ask this:
Should Iris unguicularis be fertilized during the summer. I have some
planted under a tall Pine Tree where it gets morning and late afternoon
sun, but is shaded lightly during mid day. The soil is extremely well
drained sand. The site gets full sun in winter.
