Roger, like so many, is on a quest for special, well growing, irises. After
his move to Oregon, he seemed to be rethinking his breeding program with an
eye toward gardenability. Many, if not all, of us received letters from him
during his search for older, reliable irises from the past.
METROPOLITAN grows like a weed in the display garden in Bowling Green, KY.
Although Roger Nelson does not appear to have registered an iris since 1995,
he could probably supply the iris. The last I knew, he still had a catalog.
A newer iris of Rogers, BORN TO EXCEED, also grows well in our area.
