No
really orange iris? How about SON OF STAR, SUPERSIMMON, and BRIGHT
FANTASY? All three are bright orange, as bright as one could desire.
As to
ORANGE PARADE, I thought I had it, but it turned out to be another victim of the
disease we've discussed a lot here recently, the Walmart Syndrome. I
bought it very late in Oct. a couple years ago, far too late for anybody to
plant it in the garden, so I stuck it in a pot and kept it alive under
fluorescent lights all winter. No bloom lst season, second season a
little, third (this) season full of wonderful blossoms. BUT, we had our
club on tour in the garden last Wednesday, and when Larry Harder took one look,
he said it was clearly not OP. Too modern, he said. Unfortunately he
couldn't ID it, either, though he said it was really nice and he wouldn't mind
having it if he knew what it was.
So, to
get back to the topic line, several oranges. ORANGE SLICES is another,
though it is not such a bright, vivid orange as the 3 I mentioned first.
No matter; I love them all.
