Re: Show report

Color me happy after scouring 4 counties in the last two weeks looking for iris for the show and worrying we wouldn't have 20, we ended up with 192 with 129 cultivars and 12 arrangements and 39 exhibitors.  Twenty of these were children who made educational exhibits as they have no iris to show yet.  We had 7 other new exhibitors-two of which made it to the Queen's Table and 3 who joined the AIS included one 17 year old who won 2-2nds and 2-3rds and also clerked our show. One new exhibitor is the husband of our Bronze Medal winner  who took two-1st,two-2nds and 1 third out of his 4 entries.  We gave away over 400 medians mainly IB's.  DUSKY CHALLENGER exhibited by Christina Sparks our Silver Medal Winner.  We have had an early dry spring followed by three weeks of high 80's with torrential rain needless to say other years the flowers displayed were better but if we can put together a show in a year like this we can do it any year.  I have many many newspaper tv stations and radio stations to notify so if you want the rest of the information go to www.jjeweb.net/iris
